God of light and shadow
Help us remember that you are everywhere
You carry us under the dazzling sky
You celebrate our wins
Laugh when we laugh
Dance when we dance
Feast when we feast
You are the God of unencumbered joy
But life is often full of sorrow
Yet your company is unflinching, my God
You wait for us in the darkest hour
You prepare a place to mourn
Weep as we weep
Fall as we fall
Thirst as we thirst
You are the God who experienced loneliness and pain
Remind us that there is no part of our lives
However sunlit or shadowed it may be
That is unfamiliar to your heart
In all of it, we belong to You, Jesus.
Amen.
