Gracious God, you generate life and identity.

You are our true home and homemaker. You are present, hospitable, and attentive.
You open your arms to the weary, the immature, and the wayward.
You adopt the abandoned and make space at your table for the lonely.
As we pursue the work of making “house a home”, may we walk by your hospitable Spirit.
May our homes point forward to the home you prepare for us.
In the imperfection of our homes, may we be reminded that we are waiting for you, our true homemaker, to return and make these houses homes forevermore. Amen.
